About the Courses:

We run a number of courses designed to give a sound foundation in the use of a studio, from both technical and artistic viewpoints. Our courses are aimed at those looking for a hands on experience of working in a professional central London photographic studio.

We find that many people have invested in studio quality camera equipment, but are unsure, and somewhat daunted by the prospect of using a professional studio. Our courses demistify the process of running a shoot, and explain in a straight foward way the principles of studio photography.

Our training staff are experienced, professional studio photographers, with a wealth of experience to give. Their approach is friendly and fun, and can discuss many forms of photography.

We offer a variety of courses aimed at people with different levels of experience:

The Studio introduction course gives a firm grounding in the use of studio lighting and equipment to give striking, professional images. We discuss various lighting techniques, giving the delegates time to try different setups, as well as asking as many questions as they like.

We do not assume any prior knowledge of studio work, and encourage students to try different setups to see their effect, and to give them confidence in using studio equipment.

Our Fashion Portfolio Shoot assumes the basic knowledge gained on the Studio Introduction course. It is designed to help obtain a professional portfolio. The delegates are assigned tasks, and under the expert guidance of the tutors, learn how to manage a shoot, and photograph a professional fashion model. Various lighting techniques are discussed, and experimented with. There will be time to experiment to see the effects of changing the lights in certain ways.

We also offer Private Tuition, which gives one-to-one training to fast track you to a level where you can comfortably run your own shoot. You may already have some studio experience, and want to brush up your skills and try different techniques, or you may be totally new to working in a studio.
